Christians Farm Retreat
Mission Statement
To put Jesus Christ first in everything we do. We will live our lives and do business by the Golden Rule.
To give a hand up and a safe Haven to those that need and want one. To build and develop places
Christians can go to learn, pray, recharge and get in the will God. We will promote financial education
and financial stewardship. We will promote learning of how to use the gifts and creations of God to
sustain an abundant lifestyle. To only enter into transactions that are a win-win for all parties involved.
Vision
We have a vision of a place where Christians can come to train and learn; a boot camp for God's children
to learn how to live from the land from which we came and to train ourselves to live our lives in the will
of God. We will learn to live in the world without becoming a part of the sinful world. We will learn to
be ambassadors of Jesus Christ and to spread the love of God to all corners of the world. We intend
to establish a Christian Farm Retreat where Christians can bring their families, to see firsthand the
endangered family farm and how to feed and clothe ourselves (by developing and maintaining a barter
exchange networking system) without depending on the supermarket.
Dedication
To the glory of God and in honor of our beloved Rev. Charles Madden, born March 28, 1928 and went
home to receive his reward for a job well done January 21, 2004. He spent his last hours this side of
Heaven in room 316 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital with friends and family at his side. He knew not a
stranger, he loved big, and he preached and taught the love of Jesus Christ. We said our good-bys at
the Fincastle Baptist Church on a sleety, icy, rainy day in January with a travel warning out to stay off the
roads. The little country church was filled with people who Rev. Madden loved and had touched their
lives in a positive way.
Rev. Charles Madden is my earthly father my dad. He loved all God's creations, the land (from which we were made), the animals, birds, bees, the flowers and trees. He treasured them all. He cherished the farm life and one thing he loved most was all of God's children, (YOU) and sharing his blessings with you. He lived to serve God, to tell anyone that would walk the fields, the woods, fish the ponds and creeks with him about the love of God and how God sent his son to die on the cross for our sins.
Dad dreamed of building a lake and a place that all his brothers and sisters in Christ could come-- bring their family to experience God's love and the farm life that God had blessed him with. Dad who passed this dream on to us and my Mother, (Louisa Marie Bryant Madden) better known as Granny, She has made the family farm available to us to fulfill Dad's Dream.
